Thigh Lift

Thighplasty

A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, and in some cases fat, resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. If fitness and weight loss efforts have not achieved your goals for a body that is firmer, more youthful-looking and more proportionate to your overall body image, a surgical thigh lift may be right for you.

The Best Candidates

  • Patients whose weight is stable
  • If you have excess soft tissue along the inner or medial thigh region and or the outer thigh
  • People that do not smoke
  • If you are healthy and do not have any medical conditions that would cause you to be at risk during surgery or cause problems with healing

Preparing For Your Surgery

Your surgeon will give you specific instructions on how to prepare for surgery. This includes guidelines on eating and drinking, smoking, and taking or avoiding vitamins, iron tablets and certain medications. If you develop a cold or an infection of any kind, especially a skin infection, your surgery may have to be postponed. Also, while you are making preparations, be sure to arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure and to help you at home for a day or two.

Where Your Surgery Will Be Performed

All cosmetic procedures are performed on an outpatient basis in our state of the art in-house operating suite. Minor procedures are also performed in our office’s minor surgery rooms.

Type Of Anesthesia

Thigh lifts are performed with a general anesthesia, so you’ll sleep through the entire operation.

The Surgery

To improve the contour of your outer thighs may require an incision that extends from the groin to the hip area.  The incisions will tighten tissue for smooth and create a better tone to the lower body.  Most of the time incisions can be hidden by most clothing and swimsuits.

Your New Look

The results from a thigh lift are almost immediately apparent.  A visible smoother, tighter contour will be noticeable.  There will be some visible scars, but if you maintain a stable weight and stay fit you should see lasting results.
